East Woodhay Cricket Club Lost by 132 runs

Match report Having won their first two match Woodhay returned home looking to continue the sequence against Redlynch who were visiting Woodhay for the first time in several years, winning the toss skipper Joe Lawrance elected to field and whilst Redlynch’s top 3 all scored runs and were poised to attack at 161-2 with 10 overs to go, but the score they wanted didn’t really materialise as a combination of accurate bowling, good ground fielding and some spectacular catching restricted Redlynch to a normally sub-par score of 236-8 off their 45 overs.

The main wicket takers being youngsters James Hall 2-22, Henry Chapman 2-63 and the evergreen Luke Howe 2-34 ably assisted in the field by Lawrance, Hall, George Walters and Richard Dando.

The normally reliable Woodhay batting had, put simply an absolute mare as Lawrance (6), Adam Barnes (1), Sanjeet Garood (1) and Tom Leeson were all returned to the shed within the first 4 overs with a score of 8 on the board, Dando and 14 year old Seb Chapman patiently rebuilt the innings to 62 when Chapman was caught for 22, sadly the rest of the line up cam e and went and when Dando was out caught and bowled by George Hayes for 45 the Woodhay response subsided to 104 all out in the 31st over.
