East Woodhay Cricket Club is a very friendly village-based club. We play cricket at our beautiful ground in the village of East End, near Newbury. The ground was voted 'Ground Of The Year' for the whole of Hampshire in 2014, 2017 and 2019.
We have 2 league teams on a Saturday who compete in Division 1 and Division 4 of the Hampshire Cricket League respectively.
We also run a Sunday team which play in a range of competitive and prestigious friendly matches against local and touring sides.
On a Wednesday evenings the Woodhay Spartans play in Premier Division of the Downs Cricket League.
2022 has been a tremendously successful season with the senior side winning the following trophies;
Hampshire Cricket League Division 2
The Cyril Thompson Trophy
The Serious Cricket Downs League
The Bowness Trophy
Our junior section is thriving and we have teams playing in the Berkshire Youth Cricket League at U9, U11, U13 and U15 levels. We have over 20 juniors (boys and girls) currently training and playing with the County and District squads in Hampshire and Berkshire.
Our aim is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all to enjoy learning and playing cricket in order to develop a life long love of the game.
We also run the ECB All Stars Cricket program for girls and boys aged 5 - 8 years old for 8 weeks during the Summer, which we will be running again in 2023.
