East Woodhay travelled along the A4 to play Hungerford at the War Memorial Ground on a hot, dry Saturday afternoon, losing the toss Woodhay were asked to bat and made good use of the decision, starting brightly they lost opener Batchelor for 15 with the score on 28, this brought Ben Lawrance to the crease who proceeded to score hard and fast and pushed the total to 105, before falling on 56, Skipper Ben Swingler worked with Richard Price (18) Tim Hill (11) to take the score to 217-5. Youngster Henry Chapman (16*) and Fergus MacLeod (5*) took Woodhay to 244-7 an the close of the innings, pick of the bowling for Hungerford was youngster Oscar Reeves with figures of 8-0-37-4.
The Hungerford reply started poorly losing opener Peter Reeves for 0 in the third over, Simon Lucock (38) and Freddie Tulloch (51) combined to take the score to 77 for the 2nd wicket as Lucock was bowled by Hill, form that point wickets fell regularly as no one could put together a partnership, Tulloch was spectacularly caught by the salmon like leaping Swingler for a well-crafted 51 but no other Hungerford batsman reached double figures as the innings subsided to 127 all out in the 39th over.
