Dear all
As you will have been aware we have been struggling for numbers in the U15 age group due to conflicting pressures at either School or District/County level and unfortunately having given the matter considerable thought and discussion we have had to accept the inevitable that we cannot sustain a side this year in the Berkshire League, for the 3 scheduled games over the next fortnight we only had 6 players available to play in each match. We have therefore reluctantly decided to remove the team from the Berkshire League this year.
I very much hope that we can resurrect the team next season.
However, Adrian and I remain committed to the players and will continue to run training sessions for anyone able and willing to attend on Friday evenings and we would encourage all players to put themselves forward for Senior Saturday and Sunday matches through this season, as we have seen just this weekend we had 5 juniors playing in the 1st and 2nd teams, all of whom contributed to two fantastic victories for the club.
If, at any point, numbers and availability improve I will look to arrange a few friendly games either internally or externally so we can have some competitive cricket (outside of the senior matches) during the coming summer.
For those players who have attended the indoor and outdoor training so far, many thanks for the commitment and we hope very much that you will stay with the club this year and continue your development.
